The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has already kicked off pilot production for its next-generation 1.4-nanometer, according to a report from the Taiwanese press. The 1.4 nm technology, or the A14 process, is expected to deliver significant transistor density gains and become a part of the firm’s technology portfolio for years. Mass production is expected to start in 2028, and according to today’s report, TSMC is pilot producing the technology in its facilities in Taiwan’s Hsinchu and Taichung regions.
