CAPCOM Wants REX Engine to Become an Engine for the “AI Generation,” Where AI Could Write Code and Hunt Bugs

CAPCOM is laying the groundwork for its game engine to be co-developed alongside AI. At its CAPCOM Open Conference RE:2026, a technology event held on October 2, programmer Satoshi Ishida detailed REX, a project to evolve RE Engine for the next generation, with the main goal to turn it into a game engine for the AI generation.
