CD Projekt Red created the incredible The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (whose remaster with path tracing support is launching later this month) using their own REDengine, which also powers Cyberpunk 2077, another open-world RPG which launched in a rough state, but eventually got turned around with multiple updates and the Phantom Liberty expansion.
